Wolfenstein
After eight long years, now returns the great brand of Wolfenstein!
In 1945 the German army, seeing that the allies where very close to win the II World War, decided to spend a lot of forces in the research of paranormal weapons and powers. The most important experiments took place in Eisenstad, but Nazi’s idea is to completely destroy Ally’s forces in a few time by the use of a very powerful energy source, coming out a parallel dimension, called “the Veil”.
Moreover thanks to this power they can create mutate soldiers, extremely resistant and fast. Fortunately allys send agent B.J. Blaskowicz, which has a huge experience in the branch of paranormal.
STREETS AND SEWERS
What our dear Blaskowicz has to do is to go in various resistance quartermasters placed in several parts of the city of Eisenstad and to collect information and missions from the anti-nazis bosses, like the exploration of the sewers to allow allied soldiers to move without troubles.
With regard to the American B.J. well, he will move almost only in the surface, so every time you get a mission, you will have to kill about ten German soldiers very well armed. Believe me: nothing very difficult… just a distraction to make the game longer.
But unfortunately, the action freedom is very small, because you’ll have just one way to reach the objective. So, if you were wondering about wandering 
down Eistenstad’s street well, just forget about it!
The resistance’s quartermasters are very well defended outposts and the principal is the group of Kreisau. Other than the circles, there are about two sites of the black market, which is useful to buy new weapon upgrades and ammo.
Apropos: the thing that makes this title so funny and various is that there are a lot of weapons to use. Not only “traditional weapons” are available (MP40 and similar AK47), but also particular Nazi weapons that uses “the Veil” power to be very very destructive. My favourite is surely the Particle Cannon. Did you ever saw an enemy soldier disintegrate rather than die? This is what the Particle Cannon does: disintegrate the enemy. Then there is the Tesla Cannon, that electrocutes the enemy,
there is the flamethrower and a super cannon that shots particles grenades that have the same effect of the Particle Cannon… but shot an entire area!
So the true fun of this game is contained in the question: how can I kill them this time?

Furthermore the huge amount of weapons (almost every weapon can be powered up), there is also a remarkable variety of enemies like the classic German armored soldier that uses the Particle Cannon or the Veil’s Hierarchs (soldiers that has the power of the Veil that allow them to protect their soldiers from the bullets and shot energy blisters against us). Therefore, under this point of view the game is very funny because every enemy can be mutilated and every kill stains with blood the walls and the floor.
While the story progresses, finally, you will take possession of some cristals: with these, you will use some Veil powers, like the time slowdown or the improvement of your weapons
for a few seconds. These Veil powers are very well created and you can also improve them to the black market, but only after you have picked up some Tome, secluded in the city’s map.
NICE CITY!
Concerning the graphics, you can see both very detailed models and optimum particle effects (like explosions or when you “pass” to the powers of the Veil), and very poor textures. So, the graphic sector vacillates from excellent to insufficient; by the way it remains very good in general. Per quanto riguarda la grafica si parla sia di modelli molto dettagliati e effetti particellari ottimi(come le esplosioni o il “passaggio” ai poteri del Velo), sia di textures decisamente poco dettagliate. Insomma, il comparto grafico soffre di alti e bassi, rimanendo comunque sempre accettabile. Non raggiunge mai, tuttavia, picchi di eccellenza, anche se si difende bene.
Anyway the graphic engine shows itself very light and scalable. At maximum detail and at the maximum resolution (1920x1080) it didn’t give me any problem, also in the most chaotic situations.
Concerning the sound, there is nothing to say, I guess. Music on the beam and realistic weapon sounds, in particular the explosions.
SHOT IN THE NET!
In Wolfenstein is also present the mutiplayer mode, in which you can impersonate both Nazis and Restistance, in large classic maps like catch the flag, massacre, conquer and defend etc… there are three playable classes, such as soldier, doctor and engineer. The only thing that makes this title original is that players can use Veil powers also online.
IN CONCLUSION
Finally Wolfenstein is a very amusing title, that never annoys, despite the very scarce action freedom. And this is the important. But if you were lookin
g for a foto-realistic game it’s not what you deserve, because it suffers from some little and not important graphic problems. Considering that there is also the multiplayer, it’s definitely a title that must be at least tryed.

SOUND 8,5 Very cool atmospheres, excellent weapons and explosions sound.
LENGHT 7,5 The length is good: in difficult mode, it lasted more than Call Of Juarez: Bound In Blood, but it isn’t replayable as COJ.
